Personal History | The connection between compassion and science appealed to Morgan Morris, who was born and raised on Earth. They have been curious about healing since childhood. and want to learn how to heal the mind and spirit in addition to the body. With a desire to discover new things Inspired by the cultures and nationalities of the United Federation of Planets, Morgan studied medicine with a passion for exploration and a fierce dedication to serving others. The next logical step would be to join Starfleet by providing care and assistance to individuals working in remote areas of space. Morgan hopes to use his expertise as a medical officer to change the world. Academy: During his time at alpha fleet Academy, Morgan Morris excelled in both academics and practical training. he quickly stood out as a dedicated and talented medical student. Including a tireless work ethic. curiosity and compassion for others Making him stand out among his peers, Morgan embraces every challenge. To respond to the problem, Morgan was sent out in a runabout with Commander Talera, the ship's first officer. A Gorn pirate ship that had been snooping on the outpost assaulted their runabout while they were traveling. Morgan was thrust into a dire and perilous situation far from the Horizon's safety when the unexpected attack happened. Critical systems started to malfunction, and the runabout's shields failed as the Gorn ship opened fire on them. Morgan's medical expertise came into play as he attempted to stabilize the injured, including Commander Talera, who had been hurt in the attack, while Talera took evasive action. The Gorn tried to get on the runabout among the confusion. Being compelled to act, Morgan had to protect the team in addition to dealing with a medical problem. He continued to work, visiting patients and making sure they survived in spite of the excruciating pain from his wounds. He didn't inform the top medical officer of his condition until things had stabilised, but by then, the shock and blood loss had become too severe. Shortly after issuing the warning, Morgan passed out, having after pushing himself well past his breaking point. Many lives were saved that day by his bravery and tenacity, but the extent of his own wounds wasn't known until he passed out. After the attack, the chief medical officer and the other officers discovered him on the ground and placed him on a surgical table. He was being carried by numerous people to the sick bay, but they were unable to do so because The fact that the system was down demonstrated how much the staff appreciated and respected him. Due to his injuries and blood loss, the chief medical officer had to prepare to perform surgery on him after innumerable people took him to sickbay. For what felt like hours, they were on the table replacing broken bones and mending others, but the worst injury was the metal fragment lodged in his lung, which was very challenging to extract. The chief medical officer did so, but because of the increased blood loss, they had to give him as much blood as they could. For a day or five days, depending on who you asked, he was placed in a medical bed to recuperate. Because the ship served as his first assessment and second home for so long, he spent more time on it. However, when he was offered a post as midway first officer, he would accept it but first consult the captain out of respect. Due to this he would go back to academy to take the command course to insure he was correct pick for this posting |
