OOC Posting Rules
Posting Guidelines
What is Time?
Time within Alpha Fleet is simple. Set in the year 2456, after the Dominion war. We use stardatecalculator.com to calculate the time on each post. Each post will ask for a Timeline when your posting it. In that spot please use the stardate calculated in real time from stardatecalculator.com (The time converted must be from EST). The number portion of the stardate must also go in the tag spot below the post writing section.
Who are the authors of the post?
This depends on the type of post that you are writing. If your writing a personal log then you would only put your character's name that is writing the personal log. If your writing a scenario with others involved than you would include them AS they are required in the post and leave them as authors when it's ready to be posted.
Do I post or Do I Save?
As your writing the scenario, your obviously going to be taking turns passing it back forth so each can speak and have a turn at writing in. This being the case, you would ONLY click save until all parties are sure that the scenario is done and ready to be posted.
What do I put in the tag spot and is it required?
Yes, it is a required field in each post. In fact, unless otherwise noted here on this page, every field is mandatory on posts. You must include your stardate number portion, (example would be 133463.42), atleast one of the characters last names, and whatever else you would like to put there to make sure it is easy to be searched for.
What is the location?
Well, that depends on your post obviously but it must include each location (separated by a comma) your character's will be visiting during that scenario.
Do I tag the other player in the discord each time?
Yes, every time you click save on a post and are passing it to another player/character to write in, please make sure to tag them (politely) in discord to let them know it's their turn and to limit the time these posts are in "limbo" (not posted).
